When the Extension was formed in 1968, the DNB's library was brought to the Ohio State University special collections. Since this time, many materials have been added, especially books on various systems of notation and books and scores of Hungarian and other Eastern European traditional dances.  The Dance Notation Bureau Collection is the largest collection of scores and notation related books in a university library in the nation. Contents of this collection include DNB publications and articles, notation related books, scores, photographs, and Hungarian language/dance notation publications.

These materials are currently housed in the OSU Library's Theatre Research Institute (TRI). The scores are being processed and catalogued and are available for search online through the OSU Library Online Catalogue, with keyword "dance notation bureau collection." Additional information coming soon.
