Virtuosic, quirky, intimate and impersonal, Les Fauves features three distinct dancers who arrive at the dance as if discovering it for the first time. Through Laminated Glass, Mihwa Koo explores the duet form to investigate the intersection between dance and identity. By juxtaposing individual styles, this dance illuminates different body histories and illustrates how they negotiate Koo’s artistic style. It is a collaborative work developed from Koo’s choreographic method of “individualization” in which dancers reinvent choreographer’s movements to exist in their own movement vocabulary. Two unique events in both a downtown and uptown setting provide audiences the opportunity to Watch From Here in the Urban Arts Space Gallery and the Sullivant Hall Barnett Theater.Tickets are available through the Ohio State Theatre Box Office 614-292-2295, or online at http://theatre.osu.edu/boxoffice/danceticketsPhoto: Hana Newfeld Department of Dance dance@osu.edu America/New_York public
