DANCE 2181: Social Dance

Social dance for non-majors; includes survey of the history, theory, and/or literature of social dance. Repeatable to a maximum of 8 cr hrs or 4 completions.

Special offering, typically once a year or every other year.

This is an elective, studio movement course designed for students with any level of experience in partnering, social, or ballroom styles. Most instruction is in-class with small outside assignments. 

Come to the first day of class ready to move. Your instructor will give you additional information for dress and shoes at that time.

For AU17: This class will be an exploration of partnering through popular and social dance styles. We'll find passions, excitement, and alchemy through dancing. See SAMPLE SocialDance Syllabus [pdf]
