DANCE 4202: Music in Dance Composition

Study of music suitable for choreographic purposes and the various approaches to the use of music in dance composition. Prereq: Enrollment in Dance major, and 3201, or 3202, or 645 with Music 250 or 251. Repeatable to a maximum of 9 cr hrs or 3 completions. VSP Admis Cond course.

This course analyzes the variety of ways that sound and music are integrated in choreography. Students will examine the purpose of music selection while becoming familiar with modern musical resources.
