Example topic: This research base course examines non-Western and non-concert dance forms role in shaping the world and the varying contexts that dance has powerfully impacted the globe. Readings will be key for developing a conceptual toolkit for dance research and creating a mindset for questioning our own subject position in the world. Reading of ethnographic texts will be intensive to prepare students for eventually writing their own.
