Investigation of dance composition with emphasis on structure and the music/dance relationship. Prereq: Grad standing in Dance or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 846. VSP Admis Cond course.

Investigation of the choreographic process, with a focus on music, sound, time, rhythm, phrasing, form and structure. This course examines a variety of approaches to the use of music in dance composition. Students relate choreography to music by gaining familiarity with a range of 20th and 21st century musical resources.
