Add to Calendar 2023-03-31 09:45:00 2023-03-31 16:15:00 College Day 2023 College Day is a free in-person and online event for high school students, but registration is required.   High school students interested in pursuing dance in college are invited to spend a day in the life of an Ohio State Dance major! Visiting students will take and observe classes, see student work, attend an information session about our major and minor programs, and mingle with our current BFA students. Students will also have the opportunity to take a guided tour of our state-of-the-art facilities. REGISTER FOR COLLEGE DAY 2023 >>>  Itinerary (subject to change):  9:45am-10:15am CHECK in at Sullivant Hall Rotunda and then go to the Barnett Theatre (Sullivant 320)We look forward to greeting you in Sullivant! Plan to arrive sometime between 9:45 and 10am as we want to have time to disperse groups from the Barnett Theatre to the classrooms before the beginning of technique classes at 10:20am. 10:20am-12 pm OBSERVE TECHNIQUE CLASSES, Sullivant Hall There will be four different technique classes taking place during this time frame. College Day participants will be divided into two groups that will rotate between the classrooms. We have taken care to organize a rotation schedule that provides maximum viewing opportunities for you with minimal impact to the other academic classes that take place in the building. Please use your best audience etiquette both inside the studio and outside in the hallways. Online hosts will rotate between studios every 20 minutes for our online guests. Students and parents/guardians will be divided into 2 Groups: Scarlet and Gray (indicated on label attached to the packet that you will receive at check-in) Technique classes: O  Professor Crystal Michelle Perkins, Sullivant Hall 390 Scarlet will observe Professor Perkins’ class from 10:20 – 11:10am Gray will observe Professor Perkins’ class from 11:10am – 12pm Please choose one of the following 3 classes for the other half of the time (Gray 10:20 – 11:10am and Scarlet 11:10am – 12:00pm) H   Lecturer Emily Glinski, Sullivant Hall 250 I     Professor Eddie Taketa, Sullivant Hall Studio 370 O  Professor Abby Zbikowski, Sullivant Hall Studio 270 12:00pm-1:00pm Ohio Union LUNCH on your own. Student participants will be provided with a $10 BuckID card to use toward their lunch that may be redeemed at any food vendor in the Ohio Union. CHANGE FOR CLASS - Please use restrooms on 2nd floor of Sullivant (Gray group) and 3rd floor of Sullivant (Scarlet group) to help spread out the traffic and be on the same floor as your next master class.  Please wear comfortable clothing with clear and simple lines. It is best to wear a bright colored leotard or top. Bare feet, slip-on jazz, half-sole, or ballet shoes requested. Your guide will also be able to show you the Sullivant Hall Dance Media Lab, ACCAD Motion Lab, Conditioning Studio, and give you the inside scoop on what it’s like to live in the dorms.
