Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Freshman Research Forum

Freshman Research Forum
March 30, 2018
3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
141 Sullivant Hall

This spring, the Freshman Class in the Department of Dance will be showcasing their One Hour Study research projects. These projects will explore multiple disciplines within the field of dance such as dance wellness, technology, film, performance, history and choreography. The forum will be a culmination of a five-week process, which includes proposal writing, conducting research, analyzing data and preparing for an oral presentation on their work. All research was collected within a one hour time frame. Students will be presenting to fellow undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and anyone who has a curiosity about the body and its multifaceted use.

Watch the included videos to get a glimpse of individual projects featured at this year’s forum. Fellow students Sophie Claman, Sophia Smith, Sari Schlonsky, Brittany Coleman, Danielle Barker, Elyssa Szemcsak, and Catie Armbrecht share an overview of their research projects and their expected outcomes.

During this research forum, each student will bring their different experiences together to establish a space for creative thinking. The Freshmen Class invites you to join us on March 30th, 2018 at 141 Sullivant Hall from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. Admission is free!
