Kent DeSpain book signing and reading
Kent De Spain, author and improviser, will visit the Department of Dance on Wednesday, January 28, to teach improvisation to undergraduate and graduate students. His new book, Landscape of the Now: A Topography of Movement Improvisation will be on sale and available for Kent’s signature shortly after his class ends at 5:00 pm. The reading/signing will take place in the Department of Dance's reception area (Sullivant 316). De Spain earned his B.A. and M.A. from UCLA, and his Ed.D. from Temple. He spent a year as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow here at OSU, and has worked for many years as a professional choreographer and videographer, teaching movement practices, anatomy, injury prevention, and somatics to students and professionals in the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. He is currently a faculty member at Antioch University Midwest, and lives in Yellow Springs, OH.
