Assistant Professor in Dance Film + Digital Technologies Kym McDaniel, is an American College Dance Association (ACDA) Screendance Adjudicator this year. As an adjudicator, she presented a virtual workshop entitled, “”Frequency, Incidence, Occurrence”: Experimenting With Crip Time in Screendance.” The title and workshop reference feminist disability scholar Alison Kafer’s chapter, “Time for Disability Studies and a Future for Crips” from her book, Feminist, Queer, Crip. The chapter was a foundation for the workshop with participants analyzing Crip Time in relation to dance film and choreography. Participants also created a short video experimenting with gesture and time. Several slides from the presentation are shared here.
