OSU Dance mourns the loss of MaDonna Grimes, a 1984 graduate of our program, who passed away earlier this month after a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Knoxville, Tennessee and raised in Dayton, Ohio, MaDonna soon took her professional career to Hollywood after graduating, where she started the MaDonna Grimes Dance Fitness Studio and shared her talents as an award-winning dance and fitness instructor and choreographer. Among her many accomplishments were developing a series of bestselling dance and fitness videos, and winning an NAACP Best Choreographer for Theatre award in 2008.
OSU Dance extends our heartfelt condolences to MaDonna’s family, friends and the community of dancers she inspired through her work. For more information about MaDonna’s life and accomplishments, visit her memorial page.
