Afaliah Tribune is a Columbus, Ohio born, New York City-based choreographer and a graduate of The Ohio State University with a BFA in Dance and an MA in Dance in the Professions from NYU Steinhardt. Tribune has toured and performed with Rennie Harris Puremovement, Joe, 50 Cent, MTV Music Awards, and Philip Hamilton’s VOICES. She is currently on faculty at NYU’s Steinhardt Dance Education Program and is Co-Advisor for the Dances of The African Diaspora track. Afaliah is the Creator and Director of TribuneLAB-a nine-week Dance Technique, Dance Therapy and Performance Intensive. An accomplished songwriter, Tribune has penned songs for CBS soap operas and has composed original vocal scores for independent choreographers and dance companies. Afaliah has showcased work at The Kennedy Center, Dance Africa, Middlebury College, New York University, and Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning. As Artistic Director of Afaliah Tribune Dance, Tribune uses her various artistic skills as a dancer, rapper and singer to create a marriage between movement and music in a way that speaks largely to all audiences.
