Scholars/artists Yuji Oka and Stephanie Gottlob visit the Department of Dance for a film showing of A Miracle Child and Polarities followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers.

A Miracle Child is a 50 minute documentary that chronicles story of Aidan, an eleven year-old boy with Cerebral palsy. Filmed over 2 years, the documentary not only shows Aidan’s motor progress but also the many facets of his life with his family and the special needs community (trailer below). 

Polarities is about two millennials who are learning about somatic bodymind methods for the first time (excerpt below).

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The Nisonger Center is also hosting free public film screenings followed by Q&A with the filmmakers of A Miracle Child and Jordyn's Rocky Journey as part of their Topics in Developmental Disabilities Series. Jordyn's Rocky Journey is about a 13 year-old boy with autism who is learning how to express himself for the first time.
