This workshop is a result of recent dialogues about bringing Sidra’s mode of movement investigation to Ohio dance artists who frequently find their priorities evolving or are seeking creative space to explore new movement possibilities.
H.A.T.CH. will present a satellite project of internationally recognized artist Sidra Bell’s award-winning M.O.D.U.L.E. (Movement Observed During Unique Laboratory Experiments). MODULE is a movement laboratory for advanced and professional artists that focuses on creative communities, dialogue, and physical research.
This workshop is a result of their recent dialogue about bringing Sidra’s mode of movement investigation to mid-career dance artists who frequently find their priorities evolving. How do we allow our practice to develop as we mature? What tools might better serve us as we find new relationships to our bodies, our art form, and our communities? We will explore these questions together in the studio. Priority will be given to applicants currently dancing professionally in Ohio and those dance students enrolled in a university-level dance program or training equivalent. Students over 18 demonstrating an advanced or professional practice are encouraged to apply and will be accepted as space allows.
