How does one negotiate other’s movement in one’s own body? Through the mediation of film, dancers pass on the same movement material from one body to the next using their inherent movement language. Translation upon translation: movement in transit- what is lost, what remains and what is gained?
Biag Gaongen is an MFA in Dance candidate at The Ohio State University whose research interests lie in re-identifying, re-defining and re-purposing the amalgam of movement aesthetics that inhabit one’s body.
