BFA Dance Seniors Angela Ciarochi and Vivian Corey presented their BFA Senior Distinction Projects at the Denman Undergraduate Research Forum on March 7, 2023.  Corey won Second Place for “Mat Pilates Training Effects on Active Turnout and the Kinetic Chain: A Case Study” and Ciarochi received Honorable Mention for “Dance like a Man?: Investigating Masculine Aesthetics in Contemporary Dance through Archival Analysis and Embodied Practice” in The Human Experience category. 200+ presentations received scored reviews from three separate faculty or alumni reviewers. These scores were totaled to determine winners in each of the 10 categories. Winners were invited to an awards reception on Thursday, March 9, 2023, where they received a certificate of scholarship, placement medallion and ribbon, and cash prize. Thanks to the generosity of the Denman family, Honorable Mention winners received $200; Third Place received $300, Second Place, $400; and First Place winners received $500. 

Ciarochi and Corey also shared their research at a lecture/demonstration hosted by The Department of Dance in the Barnett Theatre in Sullivant Hall on March 24, 2023. After their talks, they answered questions about their projects and the overall BFA distinction process and experience. Then, they were joined by other seniors who talked about their senior capstone works.
