Helen Alkire once said, “I loved dancing and thought it should be the center of the whole university.”

So she made it her mission. Alkire founded The Ohio State University Department of Dance and spent decades sharing her visions and inspirations with students, creating new degree programs, touring student and faculty dance groups, collaborating with national and international dance associations, and so much more.
