MFA Student Brianna Rae Johnson's Dance Film Selected for Screenings

MFA student, Brianna Rae Johnson collaborated with dance graduate students Kathryn Logan, Bita Bell, Lexi Stilianos and Katherine Moore to create pour la liberté, a dance film. This evocative film exposes and breaks the confining cultural expectations of femininity. 

pour la liberté was selected for screening at the Wexner Center for the Arts’ Ohio Shorts and the Iowa International ScreenDance Festival. Curators of the the Ohio Shorts selected 22 films out of 130 entries, to be screened on Saturday, April 28 at 7pm in the Film/Video Theater at the Wexner Center (1871 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43210). The Jury Award ($500) and Audience Choice Award ($300) will be announced at the reception following the screening. The Iowa International ScreenDance Festival is part of the 12th Iowa Dance Festival. The festival presents a curated program of short films, selected from over 100 entries from 25 different countries. pour la liberté will be screened at FilmScene on April 28 and 29.
