Andrew Carrington Shelton teaches 18th- and 19th-century European art.  He has written books and articles on Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, Achille Devéria, and Kehinde Wiley. He is the editor of a special issue of the open-access, online journal Arts on the theme of “Queerness in 18th and 19th-century European Art.”  He is currently working on a series of essays investigating queer masculinities in 19th-century French art and visual culture.
