Ohio State Dance faculty, staff, students and friends surprised Department Chair and Professor Susan Hadley and Professor Dave Covey with a festive parade of 25+ vehicles adorned with congratulatory wishes, streamers, bows, and balloons on the evening of Wednesday, May 27, 2020. Led by Professor Susan Van Pelt Petry, the caravan first headed to Hadley's home and then to Covey's and managed to catch them both unawares. As a token of the department's gratitude for Hadley's exceptional leadership as chair, Van Pelt Petry presented her with a memory book full of photos and grateful notes from faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Hadley and Covey are retiring in June and May, respectively, after more than 30 years of service each to the department.

In lieu of gifts, the two have requested donations in their honor to the The Dance Innovation Fund (316090) which supports technology, equipment and facilities keeping Ohio State Dance at the forefront of innovation in dance production, multimedia performance, and collaborative art-making practices. Expenditures will be at the discretion of the department chair or his/her designee.
