What does it look like to prep for one of OSU Dance's biggest events of the year? Let our faculty and students show you.
This week, The Ohio State University Department of Dance is celebrating Professor Emerita Lucy Venable, who turns 90 on November 28. We’re also taking this time to reflect on Lucy's legacy at OSU Dance, and her work shaping the department’s principles and expertise in documentation.
The Ohio State University presents Dance Downtown 2016 on Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Davidson Theatre, Riffe Center, 77 South High St., Columbus, OH 43215.
OSU Dance students will perform October 6 and 27 in Black Mountain MinEvent, a presentation from the Wexner Center for the Arts’ latest exhibition, Leap Before You Look: Black Mountain College 1933-1957. The performances, which are free to attend and take place at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on both days, are a continued exploration of Black Mountain College’s impact on contemporary art through the works of some of its most iconic guest artists, choreographer Merce Cunningham and composer John Cage.
Dr. Susan Chess (Music Supervisor in OSU Dance) and MFA students Kristina D’Onofrio and Joshua Manculich were featured performers in the TEDxOhioStateUniversity event on March 5 at Mershon Auditorium.
